The Main House
The lovely federal style home, circa 1849, is the hub of our hospitality and where you, as our guests, will come to check in. It features the living room and dining room, which are common areas for our guests, and five rooms. All are welcome to sit and stay awhile on the comfortable sofas and watch tv, read a magazine, play a game or just enjoy a pleasant leisurely visit with new friends. The dining room is always open so that guests may enjoy a coffee or tea any time, as well as a snack or two. Every afternoon you will find a menu of your selections for breakfast the next morning so that you can dream of them that night! A cozy reading nook in the upstairs hallway also awaits anyone who would like to browse our assortment of literary works or magazines and sit down to read a bit. You may even take them back to the privacy of your room if you prefer.
The Sherwood Room is the largest of the rooms and is the only room located on the first floor. It features a King size bed, along with two armchairs for a comfortable seating area. An oversized jetted tub makes this an ideal room to pamper yourself a bit, especially after a long day of sightseeing or sitting on the bleachers!
Reaching the top of the stairs, you will come directly to the Mary Flagg Room. This gracious room has a King size bed for a night of unparalleled comfort. It offers a jetted tub perfect for relaxing after a day of travel. Whether you want to curl up with a book or spend a lazy evening writing out postcards, this quiet room will melt away your tension and help you enjoy a well deserved break.
Head toward the front of the house and you will find the Craig Room. Ideal for our medical students and corporate guests, this inviting room is exactly what the doctor ordered. The welcoming decor is warm and nostalgic. The Queen size bed is comfortable and roomy. This is the only room, however, that does not have a private bath en-suite; it is located in the hall, but is primarily kept for this room, as is common in many bed and breakfasts. If you are looking for charm and function, the Craig room is the room for you.
Located across the hall from the Craig room in the front of the house is the Montague Suite, a bright yet calming room that tends to evoke feelings of peace and restfulness. There is a pleasant seating area for a long chat or to simply relax. Waking after a good night’s sleep on the inviting King size bed will be cheery and refreshing. This suite has the option to be connected with the suite beside it by unlocking the mutual door in the Jack and Jill bath. This is a favorite option for parents wanting to stay near their college bound student just one last night before sending them out into the world, or for parents of the bride, when Mom will want to be only a short distance away to help her daughter get ready for her most special day!
The fifth and most elegant of the Main House suites is the Montgomery Suite. It features a luxuriously dressed King size bed, a lavish seating area and a two-person jetted tub with separate full bath on the enclosed sunporch. While this room is most often used as the bridal suite for our wedding ceremonies, its beautiful decor lends well for birthday escapes, anniversaries, romantic getaways or to simply treat yourselves to a few nights of feeling truly pampered. Its ability to be connected to the Montague Suite even allows for couples who like to travel together to not be completely apart while in their rooms. Bright and airy, elegant and luxurious, the Montgomery Suite is surely the gem of the Main House.
Remember that this is our home to share with you, and we want you to feel as welcomed as can be. Take the time to look at the artwork, enjoy the coffee, sip the tea and rest a spell. You are a part of our family when you stay at The Inn at Hans Meadow!
